Went for my longest ride so far this year, a little more than 50 miles, on the Jamis Renegade Elite. Some of this riding was along the river, with very little climbing. The rest was rolling terrain. In other words, a longer ride but not terribly difficult.
The Jamis Renegade Elite is performing well. I took it onto some short gravel stretches to get the feel, which is confident and snappy. The Shimano gearset seems to be a fit for me, although some cable adjustments need to be made. This is to be expected as cables stretch a bit in the early days. Of course, the saddle requires some breaking in. I do prefer this hydraulic disc breaks. As some of my riding is on streets, one needs to grab the brakes for less than courteous drivers. These stop the bike quickly. All in all, things are working out great. I’ll be making a video soon. Stay tuned.
