Cappuccino, Aruba (2014)

Coffee culture in Aruba comes in several different forms. Recently, I enjoyed a very nice cappuccino at Piazza Italia at the Palm Beach Plaza Mall. Here’s a look at the kiosk:

There are various seating options there including at the bar or tables around the side with waiter service. They serve a unique kind of pizza that I will try another time. Here’s a look at the cappuccino.

This was a delicious cup that really satisfied. Please note, this place is operated by a couple of Italians who know their coffee. The espresso here is full power. So, if you’re looking for a little “pick me up” a drink and a casual place  to watch people, Piazza Italia fits the bill.

A Trolley Coming to Aruba

For the past several months, the infrastructure for a trolley system has been under construction in Aruba. Here are some recent photos. The first showing the Y junction behind the Renaissance Mall.

The next photo shows the tracks down the center of the shopping street:

Eventually the line will connect over to the cruise ship terminal. This will give passengers a new option for getting to the various shopping and dining areas around Oranjestaad. Bon dia.

Cigar Emporium, Aruba

The Cigar Emporium is located in the Renaissance Mall in the heart of Oranjestaad, Aruba. Stopping in here for cigars, accessories, or even a cappuccino can be a enjoyable time. I was there recently and made this little video to show you the place.

As that video shows, a wide selection of cigars can be purchased from the humidor where they’re kept in top condition. On Friday’s they have a great happy hour. Various rums can be tasted while you enjoy that cigar and conversation with friends and new acquaintances. Bon dia.

iStore, Aruba, video visit

There is an iStore on Aruba these days and how appropriate to make a visit on the anniversary of Steve Jobs’ birthday. Here’s the video:

There are friendly, helpful people at the iStore. If you need a cable or a repair or just want to check out an Apple product, feel free to stop in. And did you notice that old iMac and even older Mac 512K? (I think that 512K Mac was called the Fat Mac, but I’m not sure.) Those are real conversation pieces. Special thanks to Milo for showing me the store. Bon dia.
