Snow Bird

Just because it snows, doesn’t mean you can’t fly! Anyway, there was quite a bit of snow, enough to close the small airport from which I normally fly.

It took about a day to plow and haul away the snow. Then the airport was back to full operations. The manager and crew do a great job keeping things operating, which is good for those of us who need a place to take off and land. Always do your checklist!

Puckett’s of Leiper’s Fork

When it comes to an American original, Puckett’s of Leiper’s Fork sets the standard. This is a combination restaurant, grocery, and music venue where you can have an authentic experience of the kind that is fading away. Here’s a look inside:

As you can see, plenty of tables. You order and collect your food at the counter. They have your southern favorites here, things like pulled pork, brisket, ribs, all slow-cooked to perfection, plus all the sides such as baked beans, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, biscuits, etc. In other words, show up hungry. Here’s a look at the pulled pork with two sides:

Darn that platter was tasty! Had to resist doubling down and getting another. Place is easy to find, parking on the side, and prices very reasonable. Enjoy every meal.

Barn Cat

Was working on a project in rural Pennsylvania and came upon this barn cat.

Cute little thing, only about 6 months old, but already into everything. Always good to have a cat around, especially on a farm.
