4×5 Camera, again?

Years ago, I sold off most of my large format camera gear. Was sad to see it go, but it seemed the world was going digital. I kept a few things, mostly for sentimental reasons. Then, I started using my old 35mm gear with film. Was very rewarding and actually made a few good images. Decided to take out the Wista SP 4×5 camera for a look.

There it is, ready to go after all these years. Results will be a while in the making. Probably start with some roll film 6×9 images then graduate back to 4×5. Stay tuned.

Vermeer Pinhole Camera

A couple of years ago, I purchased a Vermeer Pinhole Camera in the 6×12 format. Did some tests with it that came out fairly well. Fast forward to 2023 and it’s time to break out this unit again. Found a couple of locations with interesting views that I hope will lend themselves to the pinhole look. I use a GoPro as a sort of viewfinder because there is none on a pinhole camera as there might be on my Nikon and even the ground glass on my Wista SP 4×5 camera.

Results to follow in a few weeks. With pinhole, you never know exactly what you’re going to get. That’s part of the fun.

Tugboat Captain’s Point of View

Here’s a video I made showing a tugboat captain’s point of view as his boat pushes a loaded barge out of the Schuylkill River to a dock on Delaware River.

The video was made with the tiny Osmo Pocket Camera, which did a great job considering the conditions. In any case, now you can see what the captain sees. Enjoy.
