The Alchemist (video review)

The Alchemist is a fable worth reading more than once. Author Paulo Coelho takes the reader on a fantastic journey with his lead character, Santiago, and along the way everyone learns some lessons, all hidden in the context of an eccentric narrative. Here’s my video review.

I recommend this book for younger people, those just leaving middle school into high school. The captivating action will keep them interested, and they’ll never notice how much they’re learning. Few books are like that. Enjoy this one.

Faithful Place, video review

I just finished reading Tana French’s novel, Faithful Place.  Here’s my video review.

I recommend this book for those of you who want to rise above the typical murder mystery. The family drama as well as the location add greater depth and dimension to the genre. Keep reading!

LA Confidential (video review)

One good turn deserves another, so here is a quick review of James Ellroy’s LA Confidential.

Even if you saw the movie, read LA Confidential. The book is very, very good, even better than the movie.

Silence of… (video book review)

Here’s a brief video book review of Silence of the Grave, by Arnaldur Indridason. This is the second book in the series featuring Inspector Erlendur, who is a brooding, detached man working to solve crimes and hold on to his estranged family.

I’m going to read the next book in this series and report on it when complete.
