Puckett’s of Leiper’s Fork

When it comes to an American original, Puckett’s of Leiper’s Fork sets the standard. This is a combination restaurant, grocery, and music venue where you can have an authentic experience of the kind that is fading away. Here’s a look inside:

As you can see, plenty of tables. You order and collect your food at the counter. They have your southern favorites here, things like pulled pork, brisket, ribs, all slow-cooked to perfection, plus all the sides such as baked beans, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, biscuits, etc. In other words, show up hungry. Here’s a look at the pulled pork with two sides:

Darn that platter was tasty! Had to resist doubling down and getting another. Place is easy to find, parking on the side, and prices very reasonable. Enjoy every meal.

Ready for the storm? (photo)

Well, people went a little bonkers getting ready for the storm. As you see in the photo below, they wiped out the bread aisle of my local grocery:

Bread gone before the hurricane.

Can’t blame people for stocking up. However, I just hope all this food doesn’t go to waste. It’s always wise to be prepared for a natural disaster, but do the right thing with your supplies.
