Redneck BBQ Lab

So, yeah, BBQ is the way to go when you’re that hungry and demand quality. I’ve head the pleasure of enjoying the Redneck BBQ Lab on four separate occasions now. It’s always fantastic. Here’s a short video of them racking up some ribs.

And here’s a video made with my Osmo Pocket Camera showing the platter.

That’s a half rack by the way. Next time, I’m going all in for the full rack. Worth every bite.

Osmo Pocket, timelapse

Learning the features and techniques of the Osmo Pocket has been fun. During a recent trip, I experimented with the time-lapse function, which works very well. Here’s how it turned out:

This video was made looking through a plate glass window on a cloudy day. It came out rather well for a simple exercise. The ease of use of this camera is astounding. Give it a try.

Nostalgia in Venice, Italy

While roaming about Venice, Italy, I found some relics from the bast that were particularly applicable to my own likes. One was the old Coca-Cola cooler:

DSC_3540I went through many, many rolls of Kodak film. From Tri-X and Pan-X black and white to Ektachrome positive film in large format. Always good stuff.

Chateau d’Abbadia

On the Basque Coast of France, Chateau d’Abbadia stands on a bluff above the sea. It’s an impressive building built in the 19th Century by a fellow who liked to explore the world and beyond. Here’s a look at the main entrance:

And a look at the south side for a better sense of scale.

Sadly, no photography was permitted inside the building which featured a handsome library, a telescope, countless beautifully furnished rooms, not to mention interesting artifacts.

The photo above is a look at the chapel wing. The chapel itself was quite impressive in scale and decor. Clearly, the architect knew what he was doing, as did the builders. If you’re in the area of Hendaye, France, I highly recommend a visit here. Guide is in French with a written handout in other languages including English.
