Pompeii, house interior

Looking through the windows and doorways of homes in Pompeii reveals the lifestyle of some of the residents. They appreciated their art work. In this post, we take a look at the mosaic in the entranceway of one house:

These were spacious homes of the wealthy for sure. Here’s a variation of the courtyard, complete with columns and greenery.

Glimpse of the past…

New York City has the habit of tearing things down and building new on a regular basis. Nonetheless, in various places you can still find a glimpse into the past, such as this private mews with row houses intact:

That’s quite a nice space in there, giving a view to how NYC might have looked more than a hundred years ago. Don’t forget to stop and check things out. Enjoy the journey.
