Here’s just a few snapshots from Peñafiel Castle. I had been there several years ago, took the door, and checked out the wine museum. All very interesting. Here’s a look at the main gate:

Fields and vineyards for as far as the eye can see. It really is beautiful. Then again, most all of Spain is. Take your time to enjoy it all.
La Rioja, like much of Spain, features some marvelous views. A broad valley of fields and vineyards, it is dotted by some hills from which you can see for miles.
There are mountains on either side. When the weather rolls in, you can see the clouds folding over the top and spilling downward.
This is a place to linger, to check out the local scene, enjoy the food and wine. Take your time.
