Keys

There’s a key for every lock, or so the saying goes. I found literally thousands of keys welded into a giant work of art covering the outside of a locksmith shop on 7th Avenue in New York City. Here’s a close up:

Surely catches the eye and advertises at the same time. ¬†Imagine all the keys you’ve had over the years. Probably a couple of hundred. Anyway, put them to good use, lock something up!

Glimpse of the past…

New York City has the habit of tearing things down and building new on a regular basis. Nonetheless, in various places you can still find a glimpse into the past, such as this private mews with row houses intact:

That’s quite a nice space in there, giving a view to how NYC might have looked more than a hundred years ago. Don’t forget to stop and check things out. Enjoy the journey.

French Cannoli w/Almonds

Been a long time since I posted about Rocco’s Pastry Shop on Bleeker Street in New York City. Regular readers of The Bent Page might remember this place has been a favorite of mine since 1986. Wow, closing in on 30 years of pastry and coffee. At any rate, stopped in recently and enjoyed a wonderful French cannoli with almonds as seen below:

That, my friends, is a delicious pastry. Of course, Rocco’s makes many more delectable desserts and coffees. It’s hard to resist and worth busting the diet. Enjoy every meal!

:30 NYC Breakfast

I love a diner breakfast and it’s almost thirty years that I’ve been visiting the Waverly Diner in New York City. Here’s a quick video of typical breakfast there:

There you have it: Bacon and eggs in no time at all. Enjoy every meal!
