Books Arrive

As the photo below shows, three pallets of my novel, An Island Away, just arrived here in Aruba. This was a welcome sight as many stores have run low or sold out completely. More are on the way, too, because I’ll be hosting several events this month as well as in December.

Thanks and happy reading!

Approaching Aruba

Well, I’m back on the island of Aruba. And here is a video of the approach, aboard American Airlines flight 1047 from Miami to Aruba. The video begins with a shot of the northwest corner of the island and continues along the coast, showing Palm and Eagle beaches. Then you see the cruise ship terminal at Oranjestaad and finally the landing at the airport. See you there.

Bon dia!

I’m just learning this video software. Once I get it down, the quality will improve. In the mean time, stick with me on the learning curve.

Aruba Cemeteries

There are many cemeteries in Aruba that feature excellent statuary, fascinating crypts, and haunting images. During my extended stays on the island, I typically take a few strolls through a cemetery or two like the one shown below.

If nothing else, a trip to the cemetery reminds us that no one lives forever. Best to get those things done you’d like to while you’re still alive. Sounds like a cliche, but it’s true.

Bicycles, Aruba

Tri-Bike Aruba offers a number of bicycling options. They sell and rent bicycles. I’m also told that they will deliver them to your hotel, but I’ve never actually done that. I did purchase a mountain bike from them. The fellow who runs the shop knows his stuff. Here’s a look at their store in Santa Cruz.

Inside you’ll find a decent selection of road and mountain bikes as well as all kinds of accessories. They also do repairs if you meet with disaster. Fortunately, I haven’t had that happen just yet.

There are a number of bicycling groups on the island. I see them riding past my house, especially at the weekend. Please share the road with those of us who like to pedal our way from one end to the other. Masha danki!
