Whatever your taste in politics, you have to give the Diario (one of Aruba’s daily newspapers) credit. They do a great job poking fun at the politicians here on the island. Here is a classic example of their work.

You have to know a little about the goings-on here but suffice it to say that most every day the Diario cartoonist takes a swipe at politicians and others. His characters are smartly drawn and the words he gives them are nothing short of witty and many times more poignant than would be expected. It’s got to be a challenge to be that creative every day.
All in good fun!
Bon dia from Aruba.
I set it up in the little courtyard outside my house. I’ll be adding some seating, a table, a few tiki lights and be ready to go. Nothing like cooking over a flame. Takes you right back to caveman days and tastes good, too.
The Sea Breeze Apartments sit within a walled compound that ensconces the guest in quaint comfort. There are studio and one bedroom apartments for short and longer term stays. As seen below, there is a wood-fired BBQ, too.
There is also a large palapa hut where you can gather with your friends.
As you can see, this place is well-decorated and comfortable. It has a genuine feel as opposed to something that’s over-done. And don’t forget the pool, which is just big enough to cool off after lounging in the sun.
In the rear of the photo above, you can see one of the stand-alone apartments. The others are clustered around the central courtyard.
