St. Mark’s Square is that famous central gathering spot in Venice, the one you see on the travel shows. Here’s a look at it on a quiet evening with a lovely couple taking a photo:
During the day, things are crowded but on this morning, I got lucky.
There’s the famous clock to be seen with the many visitors:
And here’s a view from the canal, which shows why this place easily floods:

And that’s really only a small part. There’s a massive tower:
But as you can see, the closeness of the other buildings makes it a challenge to get a fair perspective.
