Martin’s Bar-B-Que Joint

Rolled into Nolensville, Tennessee, USA on a mission for some quality BBQ. Martin’s is right there on the main road, easy to find with lots of parking.

imageOutside I spot this mobile smoker, which can easily accommodate an entire hog. Surely a sign of quality on the way.

imageInside there’s plenty of seating with the scent of juicy meats in the air.

And here’s a look at the brisket platter with two sides.

Tasty, with a unique sauce amping up the flavor, Martin’s delivers. Check it out when you’re in the area.

West Chester Restaurant Festival

West Chester, PA (USA) hosts a fantastic restaurant festival. And who doesn’t love a great meal? Wandered the streets for several hours, meeting friends from my regular joints like The Classic Diner.

They had Belgian Waffles there as you can see in the next photo:

There were other stands, too, with everything from homemade soft drinks to pasta to baked goods to smoked meats.

Speaking of which, I needed a brisket fix and connected with this sandwich, which had me enjoying in a serious way:

This was a great festival with crafts, live music, and plenty of friendly people. I only wish I could eat more. See you next year. Enjoy ever meal in between.

Lo Spiedo, Philadelphia

At the gate of the former Philadelphia Navy Yard, you’ll find Lo Spiedo, a restaurant that has repurposed one of the buildings.

You’ll find seating outside and inside on two levels. Here’s a look at the upstairs.

So let’s get a look at the food, the whole meal in a single shot, which was for two people.

That was the full brisket order, fries, tangy popcorn, squid, and beer. Phew! Lots to eat. Both the brisket and the squid were delicious and cooked perfectly. There’s a lot to eat with that amount of brisket. I’d probably go with the sandwich option next time. Prices here are steep, but the quality backs them up. Lots of on-site parking. Enjoy every meal.

Barbacoa, Ardmore, PA, USA

Barbacoa serves up your favorite smoked and/or roasted meats. Everything from chicken to pulled pork to brisket is on the menu, along with all the sides you love, including mac and cheese, fries, slaw, and the works. As you can see in the next photo, this is a small joint where you can BYOB.

Inside you find several tables for 2 and 4 persons. They also do take out, satisfying that need for a party or social gathering. Let’s take a look at the 1/2 pound brisket platter:

That is more than enough for two people to share, especially if you add some sides. And here is the salmon burger:

What a feed! Seriously, this was a hearty meal at a very fair price served by friendly staff. I’ll be back here often.
