Rialto Bridge, Venice, Italy

Another one of those must-see place, the Rialto Bridge definitely has its charm. Best seen from a gondola ride:

Hotel Flora, Venice, Italy

Hotel Flora offers a convenient place to stay in Venice, Italy. You’ll be only a few minutes (as in 2 minutes) walk from the water bus stop. With hand luggage, it’s easy, so pack light. Then down a narrow alley, you’ll find the door:

DSC_3521A basic room is all you need here. It’s comfortable and well appointed:

Bathroom was a little small but worked perfectly:

DSC_3518In the lounge on the ground floor, they serve a great breakfast, so go with that option when making your reservation:

DSC_3604Very friendly and competent service here. They arranged for a water taxi to take me back to the airport and it was spot on time. This is a good value in Venice. Linger and enjoy.

Grand Duomo Accommodations, Florence, Italy

Grand Duomo Accommodations is apartment style rentals located across the street from the Grand Duomo, as the name implies. We went for the big room with a view and here’s what we saw in the evening from the bedroom window:

QNDw%H6fRJW29T4s64rEGgPlenty of space, plenty of light. There’s a sort of kitchen on the wall, behind doors that open easily for meal prep. Check it out:

Finally, on the top floor is a beautiful lounge area with an equally impressive view. Sorry, this photo doesn’t do it justice. Believe me, for evening drinks or an afternoon chat, go up there and relax:

Ponte Vecchio, some views

The Ponte Vecchio is one of those famous sites people travel to see as part of any Italy jaunt. Here are some views of it, the first of which is the standard shot:

DSC_3484Here’s a view I took from the Uffizi Gallery during a tour there. A bit closer this time:
