Classic Diner Lunch (again)

In need of a cheeseburger, I stopped at The Classic Diner, Malvern, PA, USA, which is one of my favorite joints for such comfort food. Was also testing some functions on a new camera so made a short video. Check it out:

That bacon cheeseburger with double onions is the way to go. Flavor is excellent. Filling. Fortifying. If you count the onion rings on the side, that’s actually triple onions. In other words, just right. Of course, a sticky bun for the road enhances the experience. Enjoy every meal.

Climb out from 27L

In the previous post, you saw the taxi portion of the flight, lining up on Runway 27L at Philadelphia International Airport. Well, here’s the next phase: Takeoff and climb out.

By the way, that was at 4X speed. But you get the idea. Was a hazy day, too, making for less than ideal video. Still, was a great takeoff over the Delaware River with fine sights below. Safe travels.

Lo Spiedo, Philadelphia

At the gate of the former Philadelphia Navy Yard, you’ll find Lo Spiedo, a restaurant that has repurposed one of the buildings.

You’ll find seating outside and inside on two levels. Here’s a look at the upstairs.

And here’s a look at one of the menu.

So let’s get a look at the food, the whole meal in a single shot, which was for two people.

That was the full brisket order, fries, tangy popcorn, squid, and beer. Phew! Lots to eat. Both the brisket and the squid were delicious and cooked perfectly. There’s a lot to eat with that amount of brisket. I’d probably go with the sandwich option next time. Prices here are steep, but the quality backs them up. Lots of on-site parking. Enjoy every meal.

La Porta for Lunch

I stop by La Porta in Media, PA for nice Sunday lunches. They have a creative menu, great bartenders, and a comfortable atmosphere. A treat that is worth the calories is the giant meatball. Take a look:

Lots of flavor there and perfectly cooked, as a snack or an appetizer that beast will hit the spot. They usually have some specials, such as this ravioli:

Wow, that plate was bursting with flavor. And there there’s the pizza:

Made to order in a real pizza oven, the thin crust is done just right. I’ve been known to pop in here just for a pizza, and it’s worth it. So if you’re in the area and hungry, try this place out. I might be there. Enjoy every meal.
