4 minute flight to Aruba

Want to fly to Aruba? Well, join me on this two-legged flight from Philadelphia International Airport, with a stop in Miami, landing in Aruba. You’ll be there in less than four minutes. Here’s the video to prove it.

Both flights were excellent. Cheerful cabin staff, good food, great landings, all you need to have a pleasant trip. My thanks to American Airlines for getting me there safely, on time, and in style. Bon dia!

Learning to Fly, video

Earning a pilot’s license is one of the most rewarding things you can do. I learned to fly at TAS, Inc., located at the Brandywine Airport in West Chester, PA, USA. Here’s a video showing some great footage both in the air and on the ground.

As you saw in the video, TAS has been teaching people to fly for more than 20 years. Not only were my instructors great pilots, they were friendly people who enjoyed the process of teaching a rookie how to fly. The right instructor will help you along the way, and if you have a good attitude, you’ll be flying solo in no time. Remember, always do your checklist!

Departing Runway 11

Here’s another video from the departing flight taking me from Aruba to Miami. I can never get enough of this stuff, the view from way up there. Take a look:

It was a great flight. Looking forward to heading back to Aruba. In the mean time, check in here at The Bent Page for more videos and other stuff.

Aruba RC Club, video

Aruba has a very active radio control flying club. They have their own airfield with a paved runway near the south end of the island. They hold a special event every year, and I was lucky enough to see it this time. Here’s my video of the visit:

I only wish I had a better position from which to video the planes. At any rate, it was fun to watch everyone enjoy the hobby. Activities like this break up the usual sun and fun routine, so check them out when you’re on the island. Bon dia.
