Zany Folk Art, Aruba

Driving around Aruba, you’ll find some zany folk art, sort of off-the-cuff displays of things. Check this one out:

King of whacky but interesting in an odd way. It’s fun to roam about, off the beaten path, discovering things like this. You’ll never know what you’ll find.

Kitesurfing, Aruba, iPhone video

With Aruba’s fantastic winds, kitesurfing is a very popular sport here. On the south end of the island is a great spot where you can catch both the wind and some waves. Warning: Not for the timid! Here’s some iPhone 6 video showing you a few people riding the sea.

Be careful on this part of the island. The wind and waves can be a challenge. Still, it is an exciting sport and Aruba is one of the best places in the world to do it. Bon dia.

Marriott Hotel, Aruba, iPhone video

As long as we’re looking at hotels in Aruba, let’s check out the Marriott in another iPhone 6 video. I used the native iMovie app to edit this one. Not a major editing job, of course, but one that was quick and easy and allowed me to upload the video straight to my iCloud sharing site. So, here’s a peek at the Marriott on Palm Beach, Aruba, DWI.

My expectations for these videos are not very high. My goal is to just capture a glimpse of whatever the subject is, edit it to a coherent piece, and then share it here and on my Facebook page. However, the capabilities of the iPhone video should not be underestimated. Take your time, think of creative angle, use the light as much as you can, and you’ll be impressed with what you can do without lugging heavy gear around. Enjoy the journey.

Hyatt Hotel, Aruba, iPhone video

Moving along in the series of iPhone 6 videos, here’s a quick look at the Hyatt Hotel in Aruba. This is an excellent place to enjoy your visit to Aruba, by the way.

There’s a nice stretch of beach here as well. I’ll cover that in a different video. In the mean time, consider they Hyatt does an awesome Sunday Brunch, one I have enjoyed many times. Check it out next time you’re in Aruba. Bon dia.
