In my quest for ever more cholesterol, I gave Hot Take Away a try. This place is located on the main road that runs to Paradera here in Aruba, DWI. It’s not hard to find as you can see that HOT sign from half a mile away.
Upon arrival, you go inside and pay, at this time Afl. 14.50 (about $8 US). You’ll get a ticket like this:
Then you’re back outside in line where some nice ladies will ladle in the food like this:
The Sunday BBQ meal includes a small mountain of fried rice, potato salad, several pieces of roast chicken and about half a rack of ribs. Upon arrival at my shack, I launched into that food and forgot to take another photo. If you’ve been out and about all morning and missed breakfast, then the Hot Take-Away Sunday BBQ is a great way to fill up. You can’t beat the price for the volume. Be sure to have the cholesterol limiting pharmaceutical of choice on hand, however. This food is not light.
Bon dia from Aruba.

Most of the seating is outside, however, there are a few small tables inside. I prefer to eat inside but this time I took a seat outside, which turned out to be okay as the breeze was gentle and cool. There were three of us, each with different tastes. Escargot is a favorite, and upon finding it on the menu, it was ordered by one of our group. Here’s the presentation.
That was different and the flavor was very good. I ordered a salad, which was full of delicious bits including shaved cheeze, walnuts, and such. Here it is.
Then came the entrées. The salmon was ordered and reported to be delicious, and it can be seen below.
Then there was the duck in a nice sauce as seen here.
Those little potato croquettes served with the duck were a fresh touch. I went with a tried and true filet, which was cooked exactly right.
Service at Papillon was professional and attentive. Wines were had by the glass and they were worthy of the prices. The cost of eating here is at the very upper limit of my budget. For a special night out, it was worth it.
There’s lettuce and tomatoes around the edges, french fries on the bottom, and grilled meats everywhere else. Toss some white cheese cubes in for good measure. The meats are: sausage, pork, beef, and chicken. This was almost a belly buster for the two of us who shared it. We soldiered on and cleaned the plate.
There is a wide variety of pizza on display, everything from a “Greek Salad” to “meat lovers” to “margarita” and so on. Let’s take a closer look at two of my favorites.
Sort of your regular sausage on the left and meat lovers on the right. Here’s two more.
The one on the left in the photo above is three cheese, extra garlic, and sauce. On the right you have that sort of Greek Salad one. I’ve never had anything but excellent food and service here at Jules. The ingredients are stunningly fresh, the crust cracker thin yet flavorful, and to have only two pieces is a crime. So, triple or quadruple your order! For fun here’s a look at the seating area.
Plenty of room for your family and friends inside as well as outside now that the weather is getting better. Finally, check out the menu. I’m sure you’ll find something you like.
There you have it: Jules Thin Crust, Doylestown, PA, on Main Street where you can’t miss it.
