Snack stand, Pompeii

As mentioned, Pompeii featured all the conveniences one might expect to find in a modern town. Here’s a photo of a typical snack stand (my term) found in almost every street around the town.

There’s a bar with the holes over which warm food could be served. There’s even a cutout in the bar to serve what I believe was “take out” food. I can imagine people stopping in here for something to eat, a friendly chat, and then going on with their day. I wonder what was everyone’s favorite snack.

Cafe 080, Aruba (2014)

Cafe 080 serves up Dutch-style favorites in a pub atmosphere. This place is located just around the corner from the traffic light in Noord, Aruba, so it’s easy to find and only a couple minutes drive from the high-rise hotel area.

As you can see from the photos above, there is seating outside. There’s also a bar inside with plenty of soccer (football) memorabilia on display.

This place has the best french fries on the island. I stop in to satisfy that craving from time to time as well as to enjoy the various other Dutch food treats that you’ll find on the menu. Prices are very reasonable. So venture out from that resort and try the Cafe 080. If there’s a soccer match on, you’ll be sure to enjoy the vibe here, too.

The Bandeja Paisa, Aruba (video 2014)

Well, it was time for another video on the Colombian platter known as the bandeja paisa. This is a plate with a piece of just about everything, served hot and fresh at my favorite Colombian join in Aruba, Casa Vieja. And here’s the video:

Any terms you don’t know are easily found on Google. Just remember, if you’re going to eat one of those platters, you might need a nap or to at least take it easy for while. That’s a lot of food. Enjoy every meal, especially in Aruba. Bon dia.

Koi on the Go, food truck

Koi On The Go is more compact than many food trucks I’ve seen lately. In fact, it’s a small trailer made of what looks like aluminum diamond plate. Here it is, parked at the Penns Woods Winery:

Not much room to work inside there, but the food was delicious. Let’s take a look at the menu.

We tried the Asian Sandwich and the Crab Cake Sandwich. Wow! Both of them delicious. Take a look:

Talk about tasty. That Asian Sandwich had the rich flavor of the pulled pork amped up with the bbq sauce. Yummy. I should have had another one! Anyway, it was all good. And the price was very fair given the high quality. Enjoy every meal!
