Rum Reef Aruba

Rum Reef Aruba is located where the old Esso club used to be between Baby and Rodgers Beaches, at the southern tip of the island.

You can’t miss the place as you drive down the lane toward the ocean. There’s a welcoming bar, covered seating, and friendly people to serve you the beverages and snacks of your choice.

JADS dive shop is adjacent to the place, too. Here you can launch diving adventure, get snorkle equipment, and check in with the professionals who know what they’re doing. On the other side of Rum Reef, you’ll find a gift shop featuring local crafts.

There’s also a little store for those forgotten essentials.

All this convenient to your visit to/from Baby Beach. Enjoy roaming about the island and don’t forget to check out these kinds of places. More often that not, you’ll have a great experience that you might have otherwise missed.

Oranjestad Marina Panorama

Oranjestad features a convenient marina located just across the street from a major hotel/casino complex.

You’ll find all kinds of boats, both large and small here. For those interested in fishing, you’ll find charter boats for hire. Then there are the yachts that I have posted before. In the distance, you’ll see the bow of a cruise ship along the main wharf. Finally, don’t be surprised if you see a tugboat or two loitering.

Another pool view…

I’ve posted several views from swimming pools here in Aruba. Our next one comes from the Divi All Inclusive in the low-rise hotel area. Take a look.

Not bad, eh? This is a great location to watch the inbound ships. They pass fairly close to the beach on their approach to Oranjestaad Harbor. Of course, you’re there with a cold beverage, maybe a good book and a snack, too. Either way, it’s hard to beat Aruba’s beachside pools.

Balashi Chill, Launch Party

Balashi Brewing of Aruba put on quite a show for the launch of their new beer, Chill. There were two bands, food, and of course, beer. All this was set up on top of a sandy beach spread out near the high rise hotel area. Below you can see the Tsunami Band playing away to a huge crowd.

Here are some photos of the hospitality tents.

Naturally, Coca-Cola was on hand for those seeking non-alcoholic refreshment.

And check out all that sand that was trucked in to create a dance area for those swinging to the music.

Everyone enjoyed themselves, and by what was said, Chill will be a big success. During your next visit to Aruba, you’ll have to give it a try. Rumor has it, Chill contains on 90 calories so it won’t explode your waistline. I’d like to extend special thanks to Brad and Lori for the personal invite. It was great to see you both and I appreciate the warm hospitality.
