In the Steps of St. Paul, video review

H.V. Morton remains one of the best travels writers of all time. He was the consummate English gentlemen, with a solid perspective, a remarkable grasp of history, and a willingness to plunge into the world at full speed. In 1936, he wrote In the Steps of St. Paul, a travelogue of his journey following the missionary journeys of St. Paul. Here’s my video review.

If you’re planning on traveling to any parts of the world covered in this book, take the time to read it. It will augment your knowledge and make the trip that much more enjoyable. Happy travels!

Rode Audio Rig, video review

Here’s another gadget review, actually a triple. Rode is a brand I’ve come to appreciate for their good quality at reasonable prices. Hence , I put together a rig for recording sound on location that includes the NTG-2 microphone, Blimp Suspension and Windscreen, and the boom pole. Check it all out.

High quality sound definitely improves the moving image, so don’t neglect it in your videos or movies. You don’t have to spend a huge amount of money. Rode will get you the sound you need at a number you can afford. Enjoy the process!

Touch and Go, flying video

As long as we’re on the subject of flying, here’s a video showing a takeoff from Brandywine Airport, a touch and go landing at Easton, MD, and another landing back at Brandywine. Let’s head out to the flight line.

Checklists are one way pilots are sure to cover all the steps for a given portion of the flight. They come in handy for all types of things, too, not just flying. Make one for yourself, perhaps for packing your vacation suitcase. See you at the airport soon.

Daily Bread, Aruba

People frequently ask me about the food in the grocery stores here in Aruba. Regular visitors looking to stay longer on the island want to know what they can find in terms of the regular staples. So, I made this little video about the bread (rolls) from three different bakeries.

As mentioned, each of these bakeries sells a full line of products, including wheat, white, and oat bread. When time permits, I’ll make more videos showing different items from various stores so that you’ll have a better idea what to expect when you’re here. Hope this has been helpful.
