Schuylkill River Trail

The Schuylkill River Trail traces the river of the same name, providing a location for recreational activities from Philadelphia all the way to Reading and beyond. I’ve ridden my bicycle on it many times but not lately. That is, until today:

I rode more than 20 miles, at an easy pace. The weather was chilly, but plenty of people out.

With ample places to park at various locations along the trail, there are many ways to access the route. While the views are a bit bleak now at the end of winter, there still are plenty of sights to see.

Get out there and get some exercise. It’s fun and good for you.

Snow Bike

Bicycling is lots of fun and can keep you fit. Winter is no reason to stop riding, either. As you can see in the photo below, I took to the streets and trails on my trusty Trek.

Of course, I wasn’t jumping over piles of snow. But I’ve been out there plenty this winter season, wearing my cold weather gear, cranking out the miles and burning the calories. The Trek never misses a beat. Just be careful around the cars and other hazards.

Trattoria San Nicola, Paoli

Enjoyed a tasty lunch at Trattoria San Nicola in Paoli, PA, USA. Of course, this is an Italian spot, one I’ve passed many times. At last, stopped in and was impressed by both the food and service. Started with some salads, one a simple mixed greens you see here:

The other salad featured roasted peppers and sun-dried tomatoes that you see next:

Moving on to the entrees, let’s begin with the grilled swordfish that you see here:

And finally, a tried and true veal parm with veggies on the side:

Service for the whole meal was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I look forward to returning to San Nicola for a supper to try other dishes and maybe some wine. There’s ample parking and the place is easy to find along Route 30. Enjoy every meal. (Next time I’ll be sure to take the Nikon 1 AW to snap photos. These were taken with the iPhone and leave much to be desired.)

West Chester Restaurant Festival

West Chester, PA (USA) hosts a fantastic restaurant festival. And who doesn’t love a great meal? Wandered the streets for several hours, meeting friends from my regular joints like The Classic Diner.

They had Belgian Waffles there as you can see in the next photo:

There were other stands, too, with everything from homemade soft drinks to pasta to baked goods to smoked meats.

Speaking of which, I needed a brisket fix and connected with this sandwich, which had me enjoying in a serious way:

This was a great festival with crafts, live music, and plenty of friendly people. I only wish I could eat more. See you next year. Enjoy ever meal in between.
