Ships at Anchor

While on final approach at Philadelphia international Airport, I had a nice view of the Delaware River below. Although a cloudy, rainy day, the visibility was fairly good. Any time I’m in the air, I like to snap a few pictures. Here’s a look at some ships at anchor:

Of course, this photo was taken with my iPhone. Could be sharper, but good for the device and the conditions. Been a long time since I travel on the Delaware River. Was good to see a bunch of ships there.

Tugboat Video Visit

I had the good fortune of heading back to the Philadelphia waterfront, only a stone’s throw from where I used to work. I visited a handsome tugboat and made this video, showing you some of the particulars. Take a look.

I want to thank the captain and crew for having me aboard. It was fun to check out a newer boat with all the latest equipment. I hope to stop by again soon.

Steady as she goes…

Here’s a photo I happened upon a few nights ago. Was driving along the coast of Savaneta, Aruba, DWI and spotted a tugboat steaming south as the sun set.

Always a good idea to keep a camera handy. This was my Nikon 1 AW, a great little unit that does a good job without much work on the users part. And, with all the media we have today, you can share instantly and enjoy.

Along the beach, Barcelona, Spain

While in Barcelona, it’s fun to simply stroll along the promenade that fronts the beach. Here people come to exercise, take a dip in the ocean, to see and be seen.

There are also several marinas and yacht basins where you can tie up your boat or check out those belonging to others.

You’ll also find the W Hotel. Here’s the long view of it in the distance:

There are plenty of places to eat and drink as well. Here’s a look at one:

Of course there are many others, so you’ll have plenty of options for food. Here’s a close look at the W Hotel thanks to my wide angle lens:

I ended my walk at this spot because it’s a convenient place to get a taxi. While traveling, be sure to do plenty of sightseeing on foot.
