Termini Bros., tiramisu

While at the Reading Terminal Market last week, I stopped by Termini Bros. for some pastry. One of my favorites is tiramisu, and they have a single-serving version that was irresistible. Here’s a photo:

These are made fresh so you want to eat them right away. I toted mine back to the shack, polishing it off with a quart of coffee. The flavor was all there, reminding me to keep the meals a bit smaller to save room for dessert. Termini Bros. has all kinds of pastry, cookies, and cakes, all in various sizes. Stop by there, you won’t be disappointed.

Melt Down

No, not a nuclear incident, rather a grilled cheese. I’ve been driving past this place for a while now and finally stopped in to give it a try. Pleasant surprise and mild shock. First, let’s talk about the food. There’s a row of sandwich grillers behind the counter so I ordered up the usual, ham and cheddar on Italian white bread. On the side, smoky corn chowder soup with bacon. Here’s the sandwich:

As you can see chips and pickle come with the sandwich. Then there was the soup, which you can see here:

Both items were tasty and perfectly cooked, if a bit heavy. This is going to be great food on a cold, rainy November day, or in the depth of winter. Service is very friendly, too. Prices are a little high for what you get, almost $15 for the pair above with a soda. Still, if you’re on Lancaster Avenue in Wayne, PA and need a comfort food fix, this place will do a good job.

Three Tacos!

My pal, Ben, knows some good food joints. He introduced me to this place for tacos recently and we headed over there for a recharge. Check out the three tacos on my plate.

The one on the left is made with steak, the other two with pork. All of them were delicious, authentic, Mexican tacos. The thing is, they’re much more filling than they look. I recommend only two. Trouble is, they taste good enough that you gorge yourself. This place is located on the west side of West Chester, PA, USA. I don’t even know if it has a name. Doesn’t matter. Friendly people inside, good food, and a chance to practice Spanish. Eat well; live well.

Rolling Seas

A friend of mine recently related his sailing adventures. Part of his trip involved sailing along the coast of New Jersey into New York Harbor. Off the coast of Atlantic City, he ran into some easterly swells that were crossed by a westerly chop. A confused sea it was and here’s his photo:

This photo illustrates why I prefer to fly, as opposed to sail. Better to be above the weather than in it. Each adventure has its challenges. Be careful whatever you do.
