Arashi Beach, Aruba, DWI

Arashi Beach can be found near the northwest end of the island. It’s a relatively small beach, but there’s plenty of sand to stretch out on. New palapa huts have been built along with a convenient parking lot, too. Take a look.

arashi2Now that is an inviting scene. Picture yourself stretched out there, or frolicking in the water, or chatting with a friend. Dare I mention reading a good book? I could name a few. Anyway, to get to Arashi Beach, you simply drive along the main road toward to the lighthouse until you come to the appropriately labeled wall that looks like this:

arashi1And you have arrived at a little slice of paradise. Enjoy it responsibly and always use sunscreen!

Bon dia.

Another Milestone

Coca-Cola celebrates another milestone this year in Aruba. As you can see from the bottle below, the beloved elixir has been bottled on the island since 1949.

coke60_1You can see that shapely bottle is sweating in the breeze there at Charlie’s Bar. Only an ice-cold container will do that and there’s no other way to consume this beverage. Let’s take a closer look at the banner.

coke60_2They do a great job bottling Coke on the island. The flavor is perfect, as is the carbonation. The bubbles are a necessity, and plenty of them are required. I won’t have it any other way and have been known to fire off nasty letters to any bottler I suspect of not producing the product as intended. Yes, I am the judge of such efforts and rule accordingly.

Eight Years And Counting…

Eight years ago today, terrorists attacked the United States of America.

Does anyone remember?

Anyone?

Colorado Point Panorama

Here is an assembly of photos to create a 360 degree panorama looking off Colorado Point at the south end of the island of Aruba, DWI. It doesn’t fit here to try this link:

The point can be bleak, but that’s the striking beauty of it. The colors of the rocks vary, as does the sea. It’s worth a stop at this point for a photo op if you find yourself on the island.
