Cupcakes in Aruba

Who doesn’t love cupcakes? They’ve been gaining in popularity in the USA for years now, with cupcake trucks on the streets of NYC and shops opening up most everywhere. There’s now a place at the Paseo Herencia mall in Aruba, which means I can not escape one of my favorite things. Take a look.

Very nice lady working there. I plan on returning to make one of my short videos. Can’t resist the cupcakes, after all. Here’s a look at the current menu board for some selection deliberation.

Those sweets are sure to cheer you up. Enjoy it all in Aruba and wherever you are. Bon dia.

Daily Bread, Aruba

People frequently ask me about the food in the grocery stores here in Aruba. Regular visitors looking to stay longer on the island want to know what they can find in terms of the regular staples. So, I made this little video about the bread (rolls) from three different bakeries.

As mentioned, each of these bakeries sells a full line of products, including wheat, white, and oat bread. When time permits, I’ll make more videos showing different items from various stores so that you’ll have a better idea what to expect when you’re here. Hope this has been helpful.

Pasteleria La Delizia, Aruba, video

Pasteleria La Delizia is a new find for me here on the island of Aruba. Some friends recommended it for fresh baked goods and I’m glad they did. Here’s my video visit, complete with driving directions so you’ll know how to find it easily. (Believe me, it’s easy to get there!)

Since way back when I’ve been a pastry junkie, and this place will give me another spot to indulge the vice. Plus the fresh bagels, rolls, and bread, will go a long way to making an average meal a whole lot better. Nothing better than fresh baked bread to enhance the flavor of your favorite sandwich. If you’re on the island, check this place out. Bon dia.

Willypan, Aruba

Willypan Bakery and Reposteria is located on Rodgerstraat in San Nicolaas, Aruba. It’s basically around the corner from Charlie’s Bar. In my quest for continued caloric conquest, I stopped in here after a sojourn at the aforementioned house of hospitality.

Looking for a treat, I was not disappointed. The nice fellow working behind the counter served me up three pastries: one with cheese, one with carmel and one with a strawberry filling. This chap told me he was from Medellin, Colombia. We had a few minutes’ conversation to polish my Spanish, talk shop about baking, and off I went.

Prices are cheap, basically between 2 and 7 florins, 1.50 to 4 US dollars. Can’t go wrong for that price. And the aroma of fresh baked bread, rolls, and pastry is a great way to stimulate the appetite for the mighty Bandeja Paisa or other feast of your choice.

Bon dia.
