Cambados, Spain is a pleasant town on the Atlantic coast of Galicia. There is a stoic main square of stone buildings that you see here:

Cambados is one of those pleasant towns in Spain that you’re sure to enjoy. Not a whole lot going on, but that’s the way I like it. I parked in a spot along a street and asked a couple of older gents if it was okay to leave the car there. They said, “Sure. All week if you want.” Nice guys in a nice place.

(un) Lucky Fish, Zeerover, Aruba

I stopped into Zeerover yesterday looking for some friends. In the well, I found some fish on the slab ready for the filet knife. Check them out:

In a matter of minutes, these fished were sliced into pieces. The crabs, pelicans, and one happy cat were feasting on the remnants. Of course, the crowd was thrilled, too. Doesn’t get any fresher than that. Enjoy your visit to Aruba, and check out places like this for a visit to the Caribbean as it always was, and still is.

Zeerover’s, A quick visit

Zeerover’s fisherman’s wharf is in Savaneta, Aruba, DWI. This is the kind of place that hasn’t changed much in the past fifty years. Here the daily catch comes in, and if you like, they’ll fry it up for you while you wait. Then you can have a seat, an ice-cold drink, and gaze upon the Caribbean while you eat. There’s also a pool table if you like the challenge. Here’s a video that shows you how to get there from the main highway, heading south. Then there’s a look inside.

During your visit to Aruba, take the time to stop in to Zeerover’s and as many of the other local joints as you can. It’ll add a new dimension to your vacation. Bon dia.
