View from Zeerover, Aruba

I’ve posted about Zeerover before, a great stop in Savaneta, Aruba for a cold drink and a great view. Here’s a quick video look again for those of you who might need another fix and/or some who have never been.

The app I purchased for making video with the iPhone 6 is proving a little challenging. However, I’ll keep working with it and post more results here at The Bent Page.

Aruba, Mangel Alto Morning

So, I’ve been trying some things out with my iPhone 6, including a video app. Decided it would be instructive and fun to make a few little clips around Aruba. Here’s the first one, “Mangel Alto Morning.”

Save that view for January (if you’re in the northern hemisphere of planet earth). It will surely thaw your bones then. This is a great place to snorkel and just enjoy the Caribbean. Check out other posts on my blog for more Aruba stuff.

Tugboat Video Visit

I had the good fortune of heading back to the Philadelphia waterfront, only a stone’s throw from where I used to work. I visited a handsome tugboat and made this video, showing you some of the particulars. Take a look.

I want to thank the captain and crew for having me aboard. It was fun to check out a newer boat with all the latest equipment. I hope to stop by again soon.

Computer Build, video

Building a computer is a fun, educational, and rewarding experience. If you have even the slightest interest in the technology behind your screen or in the box at your desk, give it a try. There’s lots of helpful videos on YouTube, not to mention a number of websites that will make the process easier. I wanted to build a computer for video editing and light gaming. Therefore, I went with an Intel i7 4790k processor on an ASUS Z97 Pro motherboard with SSD drives for system and storage. Will be adding a few more archive drives in the future when cash permits. So, here’s the video of building my system. I’m sure I made a bunch of mistakes not to mention doing some things out of order.

In the end, it all worked great. I’m well on my way to new video projects which will be a significant test of the system. So far, so good. Given how much fun this was, I’m thinking of building another one. First, I’ll put this one to the test by doing some serious video work on it. Hope to show the results soon here at The Bent Page. (By the way, sorry about the lousy sound on the video. Microphones and mixer will be employed on future studio projects after the remodel.)
