There are timeless names for things and places. The Wooden Nickel as a term has been around for quite a while. In Hillsborough, NC, I found a bar by that name and decided to stop in for some refreshment.
All types of craft beers available as well as a fully stocked bar for whatever else you might want to imbibe. Friendly vibe here, too, which is always nice. The kind of place where you can linger, chat, and enjoy.
There’s a myriad of cocktails out there, some of which are off the charts good. While traveling the world, it’s interesting to try what the local bars conjur up. Here’s one that caught my eye, the Anythm Spirit at Gray’s in Franklin, Tennessee, USA.
Now that you know what’s in the drink, here’s a look at the finished product.
Quite tasty that was, in fact, it tasted like several more, enjoyed in a casual, friendly atmosphere, with some great music on stage, too. Note that Gray’s states they serve, “cocktails, spirits, tonics, remedies,” they are serious.
I stop by La Porta in Media, PA for nice Sunday lunches. They have a creative menu, great bartenders, and a comfortable atmosphere. A treat that is worth the calories is the giant meatball. Take a look:

Lots of flavor there and perfectly cooked, as a snack or an appetizer that beast will hit the spot. They usually have some specials, such as this ravioli:

Made to order in a real pizza oven, the thin crust is done just right. I’ve been known to pop in here just for a pizza, and it’s worth it. So if you’re in the area and hungry, try this place out. I might be there. Enjoy every meal.
Still working with the iPhone 6 and that video app. The app is actually more challenging than the iMovie version that comes with the iPhone, which is a disappointment. Still there is some functionality such as exposure control and such that is better. Anyway, here’s a drink at Charlie’s Bar in San Nicolaas, Aruba, DWI.
I hope to get better with this app soon. It is convenient to upload directly from the iPhone. Make blogging a bit more immediate and fun. Still, needs some work and practice. Stay tuned for the results.
