Palm Beach Bars, Aruba

Along Aruba’s famous Palm Beach you’ll find a number of places to exercise your elbow. I like to stroll along this beach, either on the sand or on the paved promenade that runs from the Westin Hotel to the Holiday Inn. It’s good for your joints and there’s plenty of places to kill the pain if you are so inclined. So here’s a video showing some of these places.

Lots of fun! An easy walk back to your hotel, too. So take it easy. You don’t have to go to every bar, or maybe you do. Either way, enjoy yourself. Bon dia.

Tropical Sangria

Sangria is one of those drinks that lends itself to local interpretation. It shows up in a wide range of flavors, including a white-wine based variety. The more traditional version was recently sampled by those of us here at The Bent Page. We enjoyed several glasses at the Screaming Eagle restaurant in Aruba. Here’s a photo.

The trick is to be careful how much fruit is put in the glass. It can get overly sweet or tangy depending on the type used. The good thing is, sangria refreshes as much as it delights, which is why a liberal amount is always recommended. Enjoy responsibly.

Rum Reef Aruba

Rum Reef Aruba is located where the old Esso club used to be between Baby and Rodgers Beaches, at the southern tip of the island.

You can’t miss the place as you drive down the lane toward the ocean. There’s a welcoming bar, covered seating, and friendly people to serve you the beverages and snacks of your choice.

JADS dive shop is adjacent to the place, too. Here you can launch diving adventure, get snorkle equipment, and check in with the professionals who know what they’re doing. On the other side of Rum Reef, you’ll find a gift shop featuring local crafts.

There’s also a little store for those forgotten essentials.

All this convenient to your visit to/from Baby Beach. Enjoy roaming about the island and don’t forget to check out these kinds of places. More often that not, you’ll have a great experience that you might have otherwise missed.

Bon dia.

Señor Frogs, Aruba

Señor Frogs is a fun place to have a snack and a drink. They recently relocated from the seaport area to the boulevard along the highrise hotel strip. They’re located just across the street from the Radisson now. It’s easy to find, just look for the frog.

Catchy advertising there. You’ll also find some unique seating as shown below.

This place fills up quickly. And now that they’re close to the hotels you can have a few and not worry about driving back to the hotel. Just be careful walking.

Enjoy your party in a responsible way. Bon dia from Aruba.
