Palm Beach Bars, Aruba

Along Aruba’s famous Palm Beach you’ll find a number of places to exercise your elbow. I like to stroll along this beach, either on the sand or on the paved promenade that runs from the Westin Hotel to the Holiday Inn. It’s good for your joints and there’s plenty of places to kill the pain if you are so inclined. So here’s a video showing some of these places.

Lots of fun! An easy walk back to your hotel, too. So take it easy. You don’t have to go to every bar, or maybe you do. Either way, enjoy yourself. Bon dia.

Marsha Brown’s (video review)

Marsha Brown’s Restaurant is located in the center of New Hope, PA, USA. It’s a great restaurant for both lunch and dinner. The bar is also an enticing venue for people watching, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights as it is a watering hole for an eclectic crowd. Here’s my video review showing a recent lunch.

Hungry? I am. The meal was tasty and served up by a friendly staff. In particular, I find the bartenders here to be good at engaging the guest, keeping things moving, and serving up an honest pour. That’s the way I like it.

Pierogies!

Pierogies are a favorite of mine. I like them sauteed in a pan with butter and onions, the perfect way to make a whole range of food items. Recently, I found myself in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA and there’s a restaurant there known as Hotel Switzerland, directly across the street from the Carbon County Courthouse. In I go, hankering for pierogies and here’s what I got.

Exactly what I ordered! Tasty and hot, I scarfed these down in record time. Here’s a look at the bar.

Nice place to have a drink and a few words with your pals. Sometimes you’ll overhear some gossip from the nearby court house, but I’m not admitting I ever eavesdropped like that. Just sayin’. I’ll be posting more about Jim Thorpe, including some video soon. There’s plenty to see and do in this small town. A nice day trip with the family if you’re not too far away. Keep your eyes peeled to The Bent Page.

The Sultan, directions and food

Regular readers of The Bent Page have seen posts about The Sutlan, a middle-eastern restaurant located in Aruba. Well, here’s another post about this place, including a video with driving directions and a look at the food. You’ll also see the menu. Take the opportunity to use the “pause button” to check out what’s on offer and the prices. Those numbers are in florins, divide by 1.75 to get dollars. Here’s the video:

The footage was taken on a Sunday when a local bed and breakfast operator hosts his guests at the large table. What a spread The Sultan puts on for them! A sampler of most all the dishes that people can feast upon as they desire. This is a great way to try the many flavors without ordering an entire plate for yourself. One of the things I like most about the restaurant is the consistency, always hot and tasty. La Sultana is the nice young lady who provides table service. She’s from Colombia, hence the moniker, “La Sultana.”

Bon dia from Aruba.
