Palm Beach Bars, Aruba

Along Aruba’s famous Palm Beach you’ll find a number of places to exercise your elbow. I like to stroll along this beach, either on the sand or on the paved promenade that runs from the Westin Hotel to the Holiday Inn. It’s good for your joints and there’s plenty of places to kill the pain if you are so inclined. So here’s a video showing some of these places.

Lots of fun! An easy walk back to your hotel, too. So take it easy. You don’t have to go to every bar, or maybe you do. Either way, enjoy yourself. Bon dia.

Matthew’s in Aruba

Matthew’s Restaurant, that is. This is a favorite of many visitors looking for a reasonably priced meal with a view of the sea. Matthew’s is located at the Casa del Mar timeshare with a beautiful vista of the Caribbean. It’s fun to eat here and watch the cruise ships pass by. Here’s a short video showing the restaurant and a lunch.

Rib night is another regular feature at Matthew’s. When you’re on the island, call and see exactly what’s on offer and stop by for a taste. Bon dia.

Moonset Aruba, video

As the sun was rising over the southeast tip of Aruba, the moon was setting. My intention was to make a video of the sunrise, but haze put a stop to that. Over my shoulder, I noticed the moon and decided to try out some techniques. Here’s how it looked. (Be sure to play it in 720HD for best viewing.)

Not bad. This was an opportunity to test out the limits and functions of the new Canon XF100 video camera that I brought with me to the island. It’s working well, providing higher quality video for my work here. Stay tuned here at the Bent Page and my YouTube channel, lenswork4, for many more videos from Aruba. Bon dia.

Atlantic City Boardwalk

The Atlantic City Boardwalk was the place to be today. Bright sunshine, cool temps, and lots of blue sky overhead. There was a charity walk going on, but the boardwalk was plenty wide for everyone. I stayed out of the casinos and took in the fresh air and fun. Here’s a timelapse video showing a good part of the walk from the Taj Mahal down to Bally’s. Don’t miss the pizza and sausage at the shop in the middle of the tape.

The only thing that could have made this day better was a flight in a small airplane. That’s on for tomorrow. By the way, the video you watched was made from still images captured by the little GoPro camera I reviewed a few days ago.
