Development? Rogers Beach, Aruba

During a drive around the southern end of Aruba today, I noticed some changes. One of the most interesting is the location above Rogers Beach, where there used to be a small police trailer parked. There I saw the police trailer moved, the parking lot asphalt scraped away, and a container bearing a sign for new residences. Here’s the panorama to prove it:

New development at Rogers Beach, Aruba? Maybe.

New development at Rogers Beach, Aruba? Maybe.

One thing for sure… the view is spectacular as long as you don’t turn north and see the refinery. Otherwise, a great spot. The water is sapphire blue, the sand soft, and the sunshine bright. Check it out. Maybe it is for you.

Signature Drinks, Aruba

Although I like my adult beverages simple, I appreciate the creativity of a good bartender. Hence, while having a few drinks at White Modern Cuisine (one of Aruba’s best restaurants), the bartender provided me with a handsome brochure of some signature drinks he created, each one a play on words and favorite cocktails.

Of course, you have to have the best ingredients and some equipment to make these drinks.

As in the “Conchi Cosmo” above, you’ll be making foam to top it off, which might be just the trick.

That “Cave Cooler” above does look very refreshing. I had the pleasure of watching Bartender AJ produce several of these drinks. The man is a master craftsman.

AJ also has a great rapport with the clientele, explaining the origin of his drinks as well as the various type of liquor in each one.

As you, my loyal readers know, it’s the people that make the place. Stop in to White Modern Cuisine for a great meal and fantastic drinks. (Don’t forget, we all have our favorite watering holes. Be sure to enjoy yours responsibly.) Bon dia.

:30 Chicken Shoarma Platter (Aruba)

I’ve posted about Sultan restaurant in Aruba several times before. This place has been very consistent over the years. Furthermore, in keeping with my shorter videos, I made this :30 one showing you my favorite dish, the chicken shoarma platter.

I’ve heard this place will be under new ownership soon, but with the same kitchen staff. If there are any major changes, I’ll update with another video, hopefully with an interview to gain some insight. Bon dia.

4 minute flight to Aruba

Want to fly to Aruba? Well, join me on this two-legged flight from Philadelphia International Airport, with a stop in Miami, landing in Aruba. You’ll be there in less than four minutes. Here’s the video to prove it.

Both flights were excellent. Cheerful cabin staff, good food, great landings, all you need to have a pleasant trip. My thanks to American Airlines for getting me there safely, on time, and in style. Bon dia!
