Juan Valdez Coffee, Aruba

There is a Juan Valdez Coffee shop open in Aruba. It is located near the Alhambra Casino in the adjacent mall. I stopped in for a little treat this evening. Very good. Take a look:

The chocolate cake was nicely balanced. Not too sweet, not a hint of bitter flavor. Here’s a look at the case loaded with other treats for those of you looking for a bit of variety:

Cupcakes, again!

Last year I posted about the Cupcakes and Berries stand located at the Paseo Herencia Mall in Palm Beach, Aruba. Well, the cupcakes lure me from one side of the island to the other. Simply can’t resist. Last night, I ventured up that way and scored a nice sample of the good things they have there. Take a look.

That was a tasty example for sure. Plus, you can have red velvet, another favorite of mine, and many other types. They’re fresh as can be, too, so eat them right away. Here’s a look at the entire stand so you’ll know what to look for:

Things like a cupcake can make that special night out even better. Enjoy and bon dia.

Termini Bros., tiramisu

While at the Reading Terminal Market last week, I stopped by Termini Bros. for some pastry. One of my favorites is tiramisu, and they have a single-serving version that was irresistible. Here’s a photo:

These are made fresh so you want to eat them right away. I toted mine back to the shack, polishing it off with a quart of coffee. The flavor was all there, reminding me to keep the meals a bit smaller to save room for dessert. Termini Bros. has all kinds of pastry, cookies, and cakes, all in various sizes. Stop by there, you won’t be disappointed.

Taste of Belgium (in Aruba)

Taste of Belgium is my new favorite spot for dessert in Aruba. I had been resisting the addition of another place like this in an effort to control the expanding waistline. That battle is temporarily suspended. Let the fun begin! Stopped in here a couple of nights ago. Ordered chocolate cake with chocolate ice-cream. Here’s a photo of the whole shebang:

I forgot to mention there was coffee, too. Check this out.

That little shot of liquor on the side puts the concoction in the high-horsepower range. Delicious. And how about that silver tray service. Classy. I found everything here very tasty and especially appreciated the good service. There was a young fellow on duty. He did a good job tending the table. Also, this place is glassed in from the bustle of the surrounding Palm Beach Mall, making it easy to have a nice conversation. Enjoy your visit. If you see me there, don’t comment on my bulges.
